FAQ

As we have a 1.5-year-old, can we split some surf lessons between us?

There are many options.

Initially, you both book the surf school and attend the surf class, leaving your child at our kindergarten.

You will be back in 2 hours. If it works, it works…

If not, you can take the kid with you, and then you can take turns in one group. You and your partner take turns in surf school and watching the child. The lessons are 1.5 h long. We reimburse you for one surf school.

Or you stay at the beach for two lessons with your child, 2 x 1,5h.

We have small beach shelters that provide shade https://www.decathlon.com/products/2-seconds-0-xl-fresh-shelter?variant=32011585093694

We are open to everything that works for our guests.

Important: You must book the surf school now, and if it does not work our for you, you can cancel it, and we will refund your money. Surf school is always packed, so you must book on-site. Cancellations are not a problem, and we will reimburse you 100%.

Language. Our kids speak only ______?

Our camp is international. We tailor our digital marketing approach by country to attract a mix of EU visitors. It works great, and it feels great to have different nations here. So, the functional language is English. They learned from kids. So kids feel welcome. It’s amusing to see how kids from one nation teach kids from another all the new words. It is kindergarten, and they communicate in the kids’ language. The surf school is run in English. We group by families. So, the critical thing, safety, is translated by parents. The surf lessons and surfing… kids only need a little explanation. They do not listen anyhow. They observe, mimic, and surf. Only parents ask questions like: is the back foot at a 45° angle or 33°? Language is not a problem.

My question is, how strict is your policy on surfing starting at seven 7 old?

Regarding this rule, age is not as important as the ability to swim. So, if your child can swim, likes water, and spends time in it, they will be ready for our surf course. If you are unsure, we recommend booking lessons to see if your child enjoys them.

We handle this kind of situation (you are not the first) like this:

You have to book surf lessons for young surfers. And after the first day, we see what is going on.
If he doesn’t like it and quits, we will refund your money.

But we must wait until the next day… kids need to sleep on it, and they’ll decide on their own.

Can we book for next summer or wait until next year?

Yes, you can. Families are already booking for next summer.

Can we book surf lessons while we are there?

Unfortunately, you can not book surf lessons on-site. We need to know the number of people who would like to attend surf school, as we may reach capacity later.
You must book now, and if you do not like surfing, you can cancel it, and we will refund your money. Surf school is always packed, so you must book on-site. Cancellations are not a problem, and we will reimburse you 100%.

Can we come by campervan, stay at your place, and join the surf school?

We are sorry, but sleeping in a campervan on our premises is impossible.

What families do is go on a trip with a campervan, stay with us, sleep in tents and real beds, have a week-long “campervan vacation,” and then go again on a trip with the campervan.

We are three families coming together. Can we have the tents nearby?

Our campsite is small, so you will be close. There is max. 50 m between the tents..

I would like to know the size of the groups for kids’ lessons, i.e., the teacher-to-pupil ratio. Would our sons be in the same group or with other children or their age group?

We group families. Kids are in the same group as their parents. It is an activity that the family does together. This is the best recipe for endless fun for everybody and organizing a family day. The Maximum ratio is eight students per teacher.

Can you provide more information on using insurance to cancel the Ujusansa camp? What is the price, and what does it cover?

The price is 8% of the cost of the booking. Insured is the full payment of the booking in case you have to cancel it due to a sudden, unplanned event that you can prove with a document. These cases are accidents, illness, death, court, funeral, etc.
